I think you miss the point... moving towards isolationism pushes us to not worry so much about the rest of the world... that's why it's an isloationist view. Global chaos? No way Jose! There are plenty of other economic powers that are happy to pick up where we leave off... maybe it'll take two or three of them to match our void, but the players are out there, China, Japan, England... and there are plenty of buyers and sellers to take our place as well.
