I only download music from Kazaa Lite. My problem with paying for an entire CD is that in most cases, there are maybe only three good songs on it. Kazaa and similar programs make it easy for me to pick the several songs I want to hear off a CD and leave the 7 or so others that are filler.
I know this ages me, but 20-25 years ago, one could buy an album and have the majority of songs be worth listening to. I think the recording artists need to pack a few more songs of quality into their CD's. I would be more inclined to purchase them if they did.

I have to go alongwith you on the uality of new music; basically it sucks. When Napster was all the rage, I D/L'ed my share of MP3's, but I listened to some of the new stuff and it just didn't do anything for me. As far as Kaaza goes, being on a dial-up, it's really not practical; I've decided to build a server, rip my 300+ CD collection to Ogg format, and just run it through my home audio system- I'm just getting ready to rip my first CD; I think it'll be Jimi Hendrix "Axis bold as Love". Then I get to try it out through my audio system; THAT oughta piss off the neighbors!
