Buy Barron's guide to the SAT 1. It contains all the academic material the SAT requires you to know. In other words, master that one book and you've mastered the SAT.
You may also wish to look at Princeton Review- the guys there have developed a very unique (and remarkably helpful) way of approaching the SAT.
Don't waste your money on prep classes.
My SAT 1 score is 1600, if that matters.
