I was going to post this picture:

But I thought that it was too easy and since it was raining, the picture was too dismal.
Although, I would have been able to say yes to mahone bay.

I was also going to post this picture

But I thought that the reddish sand was too obvious and that the digital camera didn't do very well on the default setting. And if I had, then PEI would have been the guess I was looking for.

To clarify previous hints: the water is closer to salt water than fresh water, but is still somewhere in between.

Edit - I don't have a pic of Sault Ste Marie, but I think I mentioned it was east of Halifax.
