I wear makeup nearly every single day. Sometimes, if I know I'm not going anywhere, or its been a long week and its a lazy Sunday, I'll leave it off.
For me, though, makeup is more than just a part of my everyday routine... I have very sensitive, very pale skin, and my makeup is part of my protection against sun damage. I understand that makeup isn't natural... and that's part of its appeal. I have an opportunity to even out uneven coloring, camouflage splotches or imperfections. I can play up my eyes, which are a little small (I've never had a compliment on my eyes when I was without makeup, but I hear compliments all the time when I do have it on), I can fill out my lips, I can do a lot of things that help make the most of what I've got and play down the stuff I'd rather not have. *shrugs* I don't believe in plastic surgery, but makeup isn't permanent.
I spend a lot of money on my makeup... I'm a bit of a junkie, lol.... Thanks to my drag queen friends, I wear M.A.C. almost exclusively. My routine goes like this:
Oil of Olay Sensitive Skin moisturizer, whether I'm wearing makeup or not (its got an SPF factor)
Color palette for blemishes (green for pimples and red spots, pink for undereye circles)
Concealer
Foundation
Powder
Eyeshadow
Eyeliner
Mascara
Blush
Long wearing lipstick if I have someplace important to be, tinted balm if not (Burt's Bees, usually)
Every single night, whether I wear makeup or not, I use Oil of Olay's Night Effects facial cleansing cloths, and then moisturize my face with Oil of Olay's Sensitive Skin moisturizer. I use an overnight lip balm from Blistex.
*shrugs* It might sound like a lot, but its really not. And I haven't had a new freckle or a sunburn on my face in nearly 15 years. *grins* And I'm a beautiful woman, if I do say so myself. hee hee
