I don't think a beginner should attempt a convergence job.
Let someone who fixes TVs every day work on the set.

Convergence is lots easier than in the old days (1950s) but there are too many things you can do wrong if you don't have experience servicing TVs.

You did not do anything that the set should not handle.
I don't see that you broke the warranty, yet.
Don't take the back off :-)
