EQ2 Revisited

As a long-term EQ1 player (6 years or so), I was excited to try EQ2 when it came out. I bought the game the day of launch, and 15 days into my 30-day trial I quit playing. The main thing I did not like was that for levels 1-10 you are too similar to all of the other classes.

Recently I started hearing about many changes that have occured over the past 9 months or so. All classes have been re-evaluated and many many spells have been changed (mostly upgraded). Very recently it has been changed so that you choose class at level 1. This was a great change; a level 1 wizard actually feels like a wizard.

With the new expansion, Kingdom of Sky, that just came out this week they have added Alternate Advancement points, similar to EQ1 but you are limited in the number you can get, and it's a "tree" of skills like diablo 2 and i think WoW(?) Each class basically has 5 paths to choose from, unless they want to dabble in each and be 'weaker'.

For the tradeskillers, exp has been doubled PLUS vitality and with the update coming very soon, subcombines will be gone.

There are many more things I cant think of at the moment, maybe others can add to this, but I just want to say Sony did a great job of turning this game around -- I dont think it was too late either, I keep coming across TONS of people who have just decided to give the game a try again.
