i sort of know the feeling...i get it with less intensity, but i can feel this weird tension in my neck that is very much connected to the sound of the clippers. some of the bigger ones make a lower pitched buzz that doesn't set me off as much...
you could ask them to try different ones.
otherwise, scissor cut, and shave the rest.
