Good songwriting is completely subjective, but it's far more than just who can play the fastest or loudest. Now you're just nuts. To say Zeppelin is pure shit, but then list Ride the Lightning as a best album ever made, even James Hetfield would probably say he was just banging on a guitar. Now if you had said And Justice for all, then you might be on to something.
Everybody is a music snob at heart who thinks the established bands suck whereas their band that no one's ever heard of is the greatest ever, but few have tried to use Ride the Lightning in that way since like 1985.
