I'm not getting into the general arguments over hypocrisy, but I will comment on this specific example. I've never heard a pro-choice argument made on the grounds that the government shouldn't be able to dictate whether or not abortion should be allowed. Every pro-choice argument I've ever heard said that the government
should affirmatively allow abortion.
