Um, actually, most leet-speakers aren't Linux users. Or BSD users. Heck, they're not even real Windows users. They're just, for lack of a better word, posers who are trying to show off and be something they are not.
REAL 35 year old Linux users who look like Peter Jackson *cough* Richard Stallman *cough* don't live in their parent's basement because they're busy making more money than any MSCE could ever dream of because they actually have knowledge about computers beyond "let's restart it and see if it works." Aside for that, they'd never use leet because they're busy on forums like these making fun of those that do

You know, I think you're probably pretty correct on this one. Thinking back to when I was around 12 years old I had a couple hacker/poser friends who would use leet sometimes and thought they were so cool because they could write a vb script to deltree c:/windows and could use backorifice and other commonly spread trojans to get onto people's computers. I'm not friends with them anymore.
Then there was myself and my other friends whom I am still friends with who thought that was stupid and immature, not to mention un-ethical. And, lastly, of course there was the fact that any idiot can do the things they thought they were cool for doing. Needless to say, we didn't speak in leet.
