I have been intrested to try dim sum but can't find any restaurant here with more than 3 versions on menu. We have many good Japanese places in Finland, but the Chinese are average at best while most commonly just take-away "quality".

It's usually better to have tasted a food and seen what's it supposed to be like before starting to experiment in own kitchen, but that's not an option for me. I have a good cookbook on dim sum and I need to invest in a bamboo steamer.
Anybody have any advice, experinces or suggestions to share before I start?
