The Rogue Nation of Gekstudia is a large, socially progressive nation, notable for its absence of drug laws. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 36 million hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.
The medium-sized, corrupt government is mainly concerned with Law & Order, although Education and Social Welfare are on the agenda. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 13%. A healthy private sector is led by the Automobile Manufacturing, Retail, and Basket Weaving industries.
Citizens select which government department gets their income tax dollars each year, the death penalty has been reintroduced, genetic researchers have been expelled, and the government is avowedly atheist. Crime is moderate. Gekstudia's national animal is the black tiger, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the gekst.
