Nice threads, Flux!
Gah I've had soooo much bad luck trying to play this game. First, it didn't work at all because I had on-board video. So I bought a video card. While installing the video card, I found that crappy eMachines purposely made it so I had to choose between my hard drive and a video card by giving me short power supply wires. So the game works, but is extremely choppy for obvious reasons. I ordered an extension (splitter, actually), which is still in transit to my place, so I'm just waiting, playing my trial.
I decide I want to authenticate my trial because I was planning on playing for awhile anyways, and I found out the hard way that trial accounts can't use the auction house and can't trade (I could've made a nice silver last night if it weren't for that). So I bought the game off eBay (I'm boycotting EBGames), and I chose that particular auction because they said they were willing to open the box for me and E-Mail the CD Key to me. So I pay immediately with PayPal, but they say they can't send me the CD Key until I verify my account.
My PayPal account isn't verified because I don't use a bank. I hate banks and I think they should all burn in hell (Wells Fargo was my first and only experience using a bank). But I have a card on file, and I have references. I explain that to him, giving him ALL of my contact info (Name, Address, Phone Number, E-Mail, AIM, my myspace page, and even my WoW characters), but he says he can't send me the key unless I scan my I.D. in super-large resolution for him. This coming from a guy in Hong Kong raised my alerts (I'm not trying to have my identity stolen just so I can play WoW), so I decided not to and asked for a refund. So here I am, trial account expired, no CD key, and I've yet to receive my refund.
All I wanted to do was play WoW.
