"Irresponsible! Oh, smash the judge face in!" -— Bob Francis, Radio 5AA, 26 October 2005
The magistrate whose face Bob wants to smash, has now stepped aside from the case. The station manager of 5AA has broadcast an on air apology, and so has Bob. It was pre-recorded, and Bob called in sick the day it went to air. But it’s unlikely the Court or the magistrate will be mollified by that. Threatening physical violence against a judicial officer is a serious criminal offence, and canvassing views about the guilt of people still before the courts can be contempt. What she said is immature and irresponsible, it should hardly be applauded as sophisticated political commentry (not that anyone in this thread is).
