cJoe: I highly recommend Holgas. They are cheap (usually $20) and you can get exposed (pun inteded) to really great professional films. I sometimes see it like putting expensive Pirelli's on a Yugo. And I like the shots they produce for the same reason as you: they end up looking more dreamy than they have a right to.
