Hmmmmm..... I copied Mickey Mantle's smoking, Alex Karras' drinking and Denny McLain's gambling.
Seriously, though, my childhood sports hero was Al Kaline, who patrolled right field at Tiger Stadium for 20+ years with the ultimate in grace, technique and integrity. I tried like the devil to copy his smooth batting stroke and deadly accurate throwing style, with dubious results.
