I am a Catholic and have wondered about much that is taught in Church but never known where to look for answers. It would be nice if no one hide anything. Just as the government hides lots from its citizens I would not be surprised if the Vatican was keeping information from us. But would we be able to handle the information if we recieved it?

I don't think it would productive for me to comment on the 2nd part of your comment.
I must confess I've really neard heard that question posed before. I'm sure it has been, but it's new to me. Live and learn!
I don't know if you'll find a "uniform" answer for why Jesus didn't have a Gospel in the Bible. But I suppose since the "Gospel" is "good news" and that good news is about Jesus, that might be part of it. He is the great object and subject of the Word.
He is also the Living Word, and the Living Word [the Bible] is all part and parcel of Him.
You might also say that since He was God and all Scripture is given by inspiration of God, then in effect it's all His Word anyway.
Classically speaking, the Gospel is found in 1 Cor. 15.1-5 ~ 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
Hope this helps.
