having read through some more posts, I see that your avitar is racist and involves torture. I'm not in the "Know" in this respect, so most likely am missing something.
To further elucidate the "thrown out on their asses" comment: The Liberal party of Paul Martin received fewer seats in the election than the Conservative party of Stephen Harper (103 to 124). In Canada you need to win 155 seats to form a majority government. So, the conservatives hold a slim lead and form a Minority government, along with a very strong Liberal and left of Liberal opposition.
A vote of non-confidence, usually a budget vote, can bring the government down if the Conservatives all vote, and there are more than 124 combined votes against it. This is basically the scenario that prompted this election.
Hopefully that doesn't happen again too soon. Sometimes I think that the Yank method of scheduling Federal elections every 4 years is more efficient/stable.
So, based on the numbers, you could say that the Conservatives have been "thrown in on their asses" and it's their government to lose now.
