I actually have entire drives dedicated to stuff like that...literally. I do a lot of digital audio/video work, so I need ridiculous amounts of storage space.
Anyway, I have a system drive, a "my documents" drive, a current projects drive, a "waiting for me to stop being lazy and fucking archive it already" drive, a "files i need often enough to warrant storing them on a drive" drive, a "miscelleaneous crap" drive, and an external Firewire drive for backup copies of the My Docs driv and the current projects drive.
All in all, it totals 365GB. 1 for every day of the year.
For those of you counting on your fingers, I'm using an Abit AT7 mobo, that has 6 (count em) channels of IDE onboard, so I can have a total of 12 IDE devices. It has a Highpoint RocketRAID 404 controller built in.
