However, given the prices you can find the 6600 GT going for online, the price/performance ratio of the 9800 Pro blows when compared to that of the 6600 GT.

It's an XFX GeForce 6600. How similar is it to the 6600 GT? Unfortunately I didn't see your recommendation before I made the purchase, and I notice the GT is $25 more. I notice one difference is the PCI Express (whatever that is). I'm not sure what the performance difference will be, though.
