Actually when I read this I did some searching to see exactly what they considered being so 'scientific' as to justify slaughtering 100's of whales??
Not that I would have personally chosen the approach that did BUT I can see where some circumstances could warrent an extreme attention getting act. They did not harm any animals or humans in the process. Only forced people's attention to the problem. I wonder who ended up cleaning it up - German government? or Japanese embassy?? You can be sure the Japanese officials were not out there cleaning things up. Some grunts from sanitation were likely the ones stuck with the job and how much do you think they appreciate Greenpeace now. I'm sure there could have been a better way to get the public's attention.
