My nephew has the same Marshall. The Line 6 is full of electronic gadgets, but the DFX in the Marshall's name means it does almost as much. The Marshall will also be worth more when you move to a separate head and cabinets, although this one will also drive a cabinet.
Keep in mind that this is way too powerful for a practice amp. Are you keeping your old one? It will still have trouble being heard over the drums though. That's what my nephew tells me at least (I'm just a wanker with a guitar...he's the expert).
