I have to fiddle (sometimes cram and fiddle when I lose patience...LOL) with it in the cradle to get the charging light flashing. Half the time when I walk away and come back, I see the red light flashing and have to fiddle with it again for it to charge. Even more frustrating when you put it in the cradle before you go to bed and in the morning the mouse is dead.

The swappable batteries on the G7 addresses the cradle charging problem. I just hope that no issues arise w/leaving the battery in the charger or another cradle charging issue. If that happens I'm going to smash both mice and cradles and send it back to Logitech with a pic of my one finger salute...LOL.
