My album of 2005 is Wolf Parade: Apologies to the Queen Mary -
My favourite tracks -
Track 9. I'll Believe in Anything
Track 5. Grounds for Divorce
Track 8. Dear Sons and Daughters of Hungry Ghosts
They're an indie band out of Montreal, and have probably listened to a lot of Bowie, heh. This is their first full length album, which was produced by the dude from Modest Mouse - whether you like or hate MM shouldn't affect your opinion of this band because their music only bears a passing resemblance. They also remind me a bit of The Arcade Fire...actually the first gig Wolf Parade played was as support for them. But that's neither here nor there; at the very least download I'll Believe in Anything, dammit.
Canadian indy music is awesome dammit - along with this album I'm listening to a lot of Arcade Fire.
I also thought Ladytron's The Witching Hour was an excellent 2005 album...I haven't heard any of their other stuff but most seem to think it's their strongest effort...I may check out their older stuff at some stage...
