My own take on this...
It seems like where videogames are headed is inevitable. I guess the trend will stay as faster, prettier, and bigger, without really breaking the paradigm of button stick connected to a big box. Thats not necessarily a bad thing, though. Thats what videogames are all about.
Heightened interactivity through things like DDR pads, DK bongos, and light guns is a step in a new direction, that conflicts with the goal of faster, bigger, and prettier. I think, though, that creativity in this field is essential, though possibly ahead of its time (in terms of revolution) and that the technology for prettier games will just naturally get better. Technology progresses, right?
With that said, I want me a PS3! It looks so slick and wow... MGS4... thats awesome.
Though I'm still getting a revolution...
