Yeah, it's really more like the "sorta-new" Doctor Who
Doctor Who aired from 1963-1989 and was then taken off the air, but it was brought back last year. It's new because it has a much more updated look and feel, but it's old because it's not "starting over." It starts up again with Doctor #9 (for those who don't know, The Doctor - a Time Lord - regenerates after he dies and that is how the show was able to be on for 26 years straight...just kill The Doctor and get a new actor to play him). The Doctors 1-7 were in the 26 years of the series, and The Doctor 8 was in the 1996 TV movie.
