What sort of future will this poor child have now? If he/she isn't
physically damaged for life (hard to imagine otherwise), at what
stage in its life should it be told of this horrific occurance? If at all?...
I'd opt for keeping it from him/her but does it have a right to know?
I suppose it's inevitable that the truth will come out eventually anyhow.

I'm not normally in favour of the death penalty, either. But in
this case... I'd pull the lever, then go home and have my dinner.
