I think I would buy a next-gen remake of FF6 way (waywaywaywayway) faster than a remake of FF7... FF7 was a bit overrated in my opinion. It was a great game, but it was overhyped due to it being the first widely popular FF game because of it's accessibility on the PSX and the abundance of pretty video cutscenes.
But yeah, I heard that video was merely a tech demo and not a remake of FF7. I could have heard wrong, though.
