Protests are not like social meetings. People are there usually because they are outraged (usually at the system), so much so they are willing to mis work - yes some protesters work - just to try and make people listen. These people, including myself, are very much worked up. I would NEVER advocate violence over anything, but I would understand that a police officer being discovered within a protest is going to not only piss people off, but become a target for ill will, if not violence. Imagine that you are protesting the illegal wire taps, and you discover that several protesters are in the FBI. How are you going to feel about them? Warm and fuzzy, or pissed>?
