I often take advantage of the legal right to organize by protesting. I do not want that legal function to be disrupted by those who are not there to help, espically if those who are disrupting are doing so purpousfully. I'd like very much for that officer to be charged for disturbing the peace, and a formal apology to all who were injured. I'd also like a promise that they will stop. I doubt the homeless people in NY are going to be responsible for the next 9/11.

Based on the 'peaceful' protests following the WTO, can you blame them really? If they are disrupting on purpose then you do have a point, but I will not bow to the concept that their presence itself is disruptive. A public protest is a matter for public concern and the police serve and protect the public.
