There was a great episode of "Behind the Lines" on ESPN last night about this. They played quotes by Barkley, and had two black commentators (Warren Moon, and a prominent Philly sports journalist whose name escapes me) discuss it. Both Moon and the sports writer both basically agreed that the comments by Gordon were absurd and ignorant. Exactly as has been said here, McNabb's adjustment in play style is a maturity, and an advantage to his team. You can't begin to say it has anything to do with race.
Gordon is a moron.
