Some of you people....buncha Scrooges! Scrooges!!! /shakes fist
1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?
Hot chocolate. I can't think of a more distasteful sounding name for a food item than "egg nog" except maybe "head cheese."
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
If it's box shaped or can be squeezed into a box, I can wrap it. Anything more complicated and I'm out of my league.
3. Colored lights or white lights on tree/house?
Colored on the tree, white on the house. No particular reason why
4. Do you hang mistletoe?
I tried one year and everyone who stopped by made some crack about it, so, I don't do the mistletoe anymore.
5. When do you put your decorations up?
Not until Dec 1st. I like my holidays to have clear lines of demarcation.
6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? Excluding desserts?
My father makes a killer glazed ham. Remember that episode of The Simpsons where Marge opens the oven to put one more glaze on her ham and it's glowing like a miniature sun...? Just like that plus pineapple rings.
7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child?
When I was..3 (I think) my sister ate wrapping paper and her ears swelled up like 3 times their normal size. I don't know why. They had to shave around both her ears and the slapped her in an oxygen tent. I don't think she was in any real danger, but I didn't care; it was funny.
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
When I started finding the gifts hidden around the house. Why would Santa, with his big bag of toys, need to hide my toys around my house weeks before Christmas?
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
Doesn't everybody?
10. What kind of cookies does Santa get set out for him?
Cookies for Santa? He's working. He's got a long way to go and a short time to get there.
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it?
There is nothing I don't like about snow. We don't see a lot of actual snow around here, but when we do, I enjoy it.
12. Can you ice skate?
I might be coordinated enough these days to ride a bike, but to balance on a tiny thin blade and whirl with reckless abandon over the ice...I really don't think so
13. Do you remember your favorite gift?
Voltron. Not the defective, crappy plastic one they came out with later, this was a first run quality piece of toy craftsmanship. Five lions, five figures, one giant ass robot.
14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you?
Every holiday should be about family and friends; otherwise, what's the point?
15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert?
Pie. I don't care what kind. Just pie.
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
That Christmas morning build fest. Some assembly required....I love it
17. What tops your tree?
An angel. Not for any particular reason; it was the first tree top ornament that worked when I plugged it in.
18. Which do you prefer Giving or Receiving?
C'mon. Does anybody like giving more than receiving? really?
19. What is your favorite Christmas Carol?
We Three Kings (or whatever it's called). First 'adult' christmas carol I learned all the way through. When I was a kid, we taped the California Raisins Christmas claymation special thing. We Three Kings had some swinging camels singing the chorus.
20. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum?
Neither. The only reason to eat them is to file the ends down to points and poke people with them.
