1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?
I love egg nog but not with rum... just plain. My family thinks I am odd. BUT I also love, LOVE Hot Chocolate. Especially after tobogganing.
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
I too am a fan of the gift bag. But have been known to spend time doing an extra special job wrapping presents for my wife.
3. Colored lights or white lights on tree/house?
Currently, white on the tree and coloured outside... my wife is in charge of the design, I just execute.
4. Do you hang mistletoe?
Nope. But that doesn't mean there isn't a lot of kissing happening in my house.
5. When do you put your decorations up?
My wife likes them to go up as close to December 1st as possible. Mostly due to my travel this doesn't happen. This year because of our busy shedules, they will go up this weekend.
6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)?
Roast turkey with gravy and stuffing... made by me!
7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child?
Driving home on Christmas eve when I was a kid (probably about 3 or 4) and being told that we had to get home before Santa got there... I was sure I saw him in the sky.
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
I figured it out by myself when I was about seven but kept quiet about it... I'm no fool.
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
Yes, but not for the sake of opening presents. Christmas Eve is the traditional time that my Mom, my Aunt and Uncle and I (and now my wife and kids) get together for Christmas. We've been doing it for more than 25 years now. This is just when we exchange gifts. Everything else waits for Christmas Day.
10. What kind of cookies does Santa get set out for him?
He gets a beer and whatever cookies happen to be in the pantry.
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it?
Green Christmas sucks. There is nothing better than a fresh snowfall just in time for Christmas morning...
12. Can you ice skate?
Hello? Canadian here... I think you get deported if you can't skate.
13. Do you remember your favorite gift?
There have been many great gifts but the best one to date (that I can recall at this moment) was a small tool kit that my son and wife made for me. It holds my tools for my scooter, is made of oilskin, has my scooter's name on it... It was all my son's idea. I couldn't believe how thoughtful he was... brought me to tears (and it's doing it again).
14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you?
Family. Just spending time with the various branches of my immediate family.
15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert?
I don't have one... I love dessert.
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
I'd have to say it's going to my Aunt and Uncle's place on Christmas Eve. It is the one tradition I have that I've been doing for this long...
17. What tops your tree?
Currently an angel... who knows what my wife will choose this year.
18. Which do you prefer Giving or Receiving?
Giving. Not that I don't appreciate the getting it's just that I love search for the perfect gift.
