my point about the non paying customers getting the black santa is a social commentary on how marshall fields believes that the black people visiting the mall dont have any money or wouldnt spend the money for a photograph so they get the black santa. the white customers who HAVE money get the white santa.
This is all speculation of course... but it makes you think on what marshall fields is thinking..
