I have a 12 yr old, that is insisting on getting nothing but gift cards from various stores, the only exceptions are to be a iPod Shuffle and a Dog. Of course the past 2 years we have agreed to do the same with both sets of her grandparents and single Aunt. Every year, about 2 weeks after Thanksgiving, we start hearing reports that gifts are being bought and not gift cards, they get deemed "impersonal" so each year she ends up with a bunch of shit that she never plays with. My wife isn't in the clear either, she agreed to and spent the last week before Xmas buying gifts...
Hopefully this year we can do it...
