I believe Mr. Strauss was employing a little cynical, self depricating humour. I do agree that it might reflect more on the author than the lovey-doveys, but he does have a point that apparently a lot of people on this thread agree with. Turns out very few people like watching others fooling around because it's uncomfortable to watch. I agree. Unless their naked and or having sex in public, which I've never seen, but if I did, I'd watch very closely.
I think I fit in where most of you fit in (except ratbastid) in that I like to express to my wife how much I love her and I'll not be afraid to let the world know it to a certain safe and socially acceptable extent. But too much is too much, and I know where to draw the line.
