Wow. I've been so busy I haven't even thought about reporting on Saturday's brunch! I was really great to meet Simon (cannot recall his TFP username at the moment), and Siege. Cellophane I (and we all) know pretty well by now.
I did a lot (too much?) of the talking, asking them all about what they do in school (Simon - English at York, Siege - Psycho-Linguistics at U of T). I've got about five years on everyone who was at the table, so for me it was like being back in the "salad days" if you will, remembering what it was like to be in school, especially in November, when times were busy and deadlines loomed large.
The food, as always, was great, but as I've come to expect with Pho Hung, the service leaves a little to be desired. After about 30 mins. of waiting (Cellophane and Simon already about 15 mins. into their meals), I finally got up to ask about mine and Siege's food. I'm still not convinced it would have come if I hadn't asked for it. And it wasn't exactly rocket science to throw a bunch of raw beef into a bowl of broth and noodles.
Unfortunately none of us had the foresight to bring a camera....d'oh! Well...we'll have to make up for that. When I get some energy up I'll start pushing for a January meeting.
