I am a vet tech like Nikki, and she definetly mentions some very important details, though another good possiblity is that it could just be teeth problems. A cavity or (Cervical Neck Lesions) defintely stops a pet from eating. We've had that happen several times with pets. Check the cats teeth if you can, and if its caked with tartar and bleeding, then well, it needs a dental asap.
