Bush has some good ideas and is bold enough to put them out there-
Social Security needs to be reformed- he tried and failed, but at least he had the balls to say something needed to be done.
I actually think he is more sensible on immigration than most Republicans. the current system does not work, and is silly in its hypocracy. America doesn't work the way it does without lots of illegal immigrants. Acknowledge this, save the money dealing with countless illegals, and tax the $$ being sent back to Mexico. It makes sense. Whether he will be successful is an open ?
We have begun to be more pragmatic in dealing with Iraq, and that is a positive step.
I like his nominations for sc and fed chairman - even miers would have made a better justice than many said she would.
I was a huge fan of Gov. Bush, as I have said in this forum many times over the years, but have been disappointed in Bush as pres. plenty of times. (he was a far better gov. than the current one in tx, and no other gov. has as much exposure to Mexico and immigration problems - yes, even more so than Ariz or CA)
My honest opinion- his heart is in the right place, but he's gullible. that's it.
