The words one picks can be important.
Is the issue that it is unfair that she got 30 years or that others, perhaps more deserving get less?
I would change what you said to,
the problem with violent offenders is they are not getting near the same punishment as this woman .
To me the problem is not that she got 30 years, hell because she is non-violent I would be surprised if she sees half that, but that others are not being punished enough.
Because of this, it doesn't mean we should go easier on this woman, but instead should go harder on others.
