from what I can gather here, it seems like the orginal order was for 14 episodes. Broadcast seasons are 23-24 episodes and cable cycles are generally 13 episodes. I wonder if they were originally slated to be on FX and then test audiences gave it good ratings so it was moved to broadcast.
yes the office season finale from what I've read is Nov. 28.
