I rather like an electronic system provided it leaves an accountable paper trail. The trouble with all these systems isn't that they're electronic and therefore prone to tampering, it's that there's no piece of paper that was once in a voter's hand. There's no way back to the voter's intention.
Hell, votes have been rigged since ancient Rome. It doesn't take a computer to pull a fast one, but it can certainly make it easier. Thing is, if done correctly, it could also make it a hell of a lot harder.
What's going to come out of this? Diddley squat, except for perhaps one more dip in the smoking crater that is the president's approval ratings.
