I was behind McCain in 2k. He disappointed me severely by allowing Bush to tar him in South Carolina, by refusing to take a stand on the racial history of Bob Jones University and the use of the Dixie battle flag in southern flags - which a plurality of South Carolinians deplore, and then by dropping out of the race.
He's been a man of principles otherwise. The democrats haven't offered, or even have anything on the horizon that looks promising.
