We are all God. We are all the hands of God. And the more that we accept the precepts of God -- any positive, accepting, loving religious group's basic rules for living and helping one another -- the more that the presence of God is felt in the world, and his/her/its will is done in the world. Through our hands.

Whether God can exist without us, or we can exist without God, is not a debate I intend to indulge in right now. :-)
