I completely agree. Many "experts" tell parents to consider a child as an adult far far before they are mature enough for that kind of responsibility. Corporal punishment (within reason of course)
does work with a majority of kids, as shameless as they seem to be these days. Parents, as well as educators, need to stop thinking of discipline as a "negative traumatic experience" for the child, and more as a path to positive behavior in the future.
