You might also be able to park on the road, but there are spots marked no parking. Walk back down the hill, just past the falls, and there is a trail that goes along the falls. Walk about 1/2 mile and you are at the base of the falls.
This is supposed to be the highest falls in NY.

thanks! I'll have to make a trip up there from the city.
from one of the waterfall hunting sites I use to help me find them here in the US. (normally my hunting is done in Iceland where there are 1,000s of waterfalls)
Kaaterskill Falls
Quote:
Kaaterskill Falls is frequently thought of as the tallest waterfall in New York, although T Lake Falls (300'), Inspiration Falls (350'), and Roaring Brook Falls (325') are taller. It's still a bona fide giant by east coast standards. When I first visited the falls in October of 2005, I was sufficiently blown away. I got lucky and got high water. This waterfall is a bona fide gem. Lake Creek leaps about 180' into a wide ampitheater then collects itself for the final 80' leap. My eye wants to say the lower falls are less than 80', but I've been wrong before.
