if the revolution's control really does become popular any game company can sell a replica along with the game sorta like how star fox came with a rumble pack. my point is all you need is a motion sensory add-on and bam that revolution uniqueness is gone

It's true that people can copy the idea, but ninty probably have so many patents it'll make your head spin, and as such everyone will be doing their own R&D.
Besides, i think it would be a major PR blow if the other manufactuers end up brining out a copy of someone elses controller
