recent releases i like include devendra banhart and animal collective. this is no striking revelation. an interesting new (to me) band i heard recently is celestine. they are from sveeden. also broken spindles has some good tunes. anyone heard of mylo? album leaf? can't think of much else...i actually haven't listened to "indie" that much lately.

I'm actually not a huge fan of Phoenix's records either, but that song on the Ereland Oye CD is the shit, I love that song.
I haven't been able to get into the devandra Banhart or Animal collective, they're both a little much for me. Not enough song structure with the collective, and I just can't stand Banhart's voice. What are they calling her? I think i read that she's "freak folk". If that's the case it's not my thing. I'll take my Neutral Milk Hotel instead anyday. But I do know lots of people who are way into her... just not my thing.
