I have several friends who work in the video game industry (some in Washington state, one in the UK), and I know how much work goes into it (for instance, while finishing up a recent game, my friend in the UK worked 70+ hours a week (10 hours a day, 7 days a week) for months on finishing the game - and he just did AI).
The biggest complaint he - and his coworkers - had is not people pirating the game, but the management shorting them money and generally being asshats. That said, if a game is good, I'll buy it instead of pirating in a heartbeat. The problem I have is just that there are some games that have too little content for the price tag.
And good work with game programming - it's something I've been interested in, but never actually done as I'm no good at it

Keep it up
